Mandi and Graham are transplants to the East Coast from Northern California, having moved to Rhode Island in 2012 for Graham to serve in a position at Brown University. Mandi had long been in the business of helping people and caring for their loved ones. Inspired by her own grandmother’s situation as an elderly person who did not want to leave her home, Mandi brought the concept of Home-Like Assisted Living to Rhode Island. She noticed that the predominant model of care here was large scale, and as a firm believer in the benefits of small-scale home-like care, she decided to start the Commonwealth House! In 2015, Graham and Mandi began the search for the perfect residence to convert to assisted living. In early 2016, they purchased 655 Commonwealth Ave and began the conversion process. In October of 2016, Commonwealth House officially opened its doors. Mandi and Graham were joined in this adventure by their dogs, Turtle and Buzz, who are frequent visitor to Commonwealth House. In March of 2017, the family grew by one with the arrival of Ian Kenneth Willoughby, their son. He too loves to come to Commonwealth House and visit with the residents. Mandi, Graham, Ian, Turtle and Buzz reside in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Marketing Director

Christine Andrews joined Commonwealth House Assisted Living as Marketing Director in February of 2020. Before joining Commonwealth House, Christine spent 20 years in the banking industry, beginning her career as the first branch manager in RI to start the “In-Store” banking program for Citizens Bank. Throughout her career Christine gained a great deal of notoriety within the community by volunteering her time teaching financial literacy classes to adults and teenagers who were in need of financial education. Christine resides in Coventry with her husband and daughter.

House Manager and Lead Caregiver

Laura L’Europa is Commonwealth House’s Manager.  She enjoys keeping our residents happy and active! Laura‘s motto is “you should treat others the way you would want to be treated.” She is extremely caring and notices the details that really make the difference. When Laura is not helping our residents with the activities of daily living or coordinating housekeeping duties with our other staff, you can find her engaging the residents in games of trivia, bingo or even leading a rousing session of sit-and-be-fit! Laura takes the lead when it comes to keeping our residents happy and their minds active, and always finds fun and creative ways to help our residents live the fullest lives possible.

Nursing Coordinator

Janis Regelmann is Commonwealth House’s Nursing Coordinator. She is a licensed LPN in Rhode Island and has been with us for 1 year. You’ll find Jan at the helm several days a week, working hard to ensure that our residents are receiving the best care possible. In addition to coordinating residents care with doctors as well as families, Jan schedules residents' doctor's appointments, keeps residents files current, and works with the staff so each resident is receiving the proper assistance with the activities of daily living. Even with all of this administrative work to do, Jan enjoys taking a hands-on approach with our residents, checking in regularly to make sure everyone is happy and safe.

We are excited to welcome Mandi Isbell to the team at Commonwealth House!  Mandi is a classically trained chef with a degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales University here in Rhode Island.  Mandi joined us in January of 2020, and has been wowing everyone ever since with her delectable creations prepared with healthy, fresh ingredients right before your eyes.  Mandi enjoys checking in with each resident frequently to make sure her meals suit their tastes.  She enjoys baking as well, and if you walk into Commonwealth House on any given day, you most likely will be treated to a platter of freshly baked treats!

Certified Medication Technician

Marie Desrosiers is a Certifed Medical Technician and has been with Commonwealth House since October of 2017. If every employee of Commonwealth House was a family member, Marie would be the favorite aunt. Marie is always happy to spend quality time with our residents. She comes from a family of caregivers, and you can see it in how she connects with the residents and families. She enjoys making Commonwealth House feel like home; engaging our residents in activities, decorating for holidays, and she is always ready to lend an ear. Marie knows that her job is not just about helping with tasks, but also cultivating the emotional connection between the resident and caregiver.
